I think it is truly a gift when a modern piece of jewelry — that is, a piece of jewelry made in this day and age — manages to look antiquated without looking dated. What I mean by that is when something somehow evokes an antique feeling without looking so out of fashion that you would not want to be caught dead wearing it. After all, when you buy an antique, you do not buy it just because it looks old; you buy it because you actually like it.

To me, this Sterling Silver Disk Pendant Necklace by Julez Bryant has that exact feeling. Something about it looks antique, yet it is unquestionably edgy at the same time. It is classy as well, due in part to the .02 ct diamond sparkling in the pendant.

Beverly K Jewelry, brainchild of Morrie Knopp and his wife and partner Beverly Knopp, knows better than that.

Their jewelry is bright but elegant, fun but stylish. It has this lighthearted air that you can only find when you are looking at a piece of jewelry someone really enjoyed designing.

I would definitely say that the Beverly K Lemon Quartz Ring with Diamonds falls into that category.

Complete with .32 carat diamonds, and set in 18k white gold, this lemon quartz ring is actually evocative of the citrus color. It looks cool and refreshing — almost like you could give it a lick and feel your tongue tingle with the sour sweet bite of a lemon.

This ring is absolutely gorgeous, and in certain locations, it can be yours for a mere $2,240 — because what is a few grand when it comes to an enduring, exquisite, fun piece of jewelry, right?

However, after spying this gorgeous Blue and White Topaz Bracelet, I am going to have to change my opinion — at least in some instances.

Comprised of eighteen karat gold, silver cushion, white topaz, blue topaz, and diamonds, this gorgeous bracelet was designed by the Candela jewelry house located in Spain.

It is part of the Andréa Candela Collection, a line of jewelry which incorporates the edgy, stylish fashion in style today along with exquisite Old World craftsmanship and techniques.

The bracelet retails for about $2,275, and frankly, it is worth that amount. You can say the same for all of the pieces to be found in the beautiful Andréa Candela Collection.
