Going Green with Accessories

Filed under necklaces + Online Stores

These days, it seems like everyone is going green.  Wouldn’t it be great if you could go green where your jewelry is concerned, as well?  After all, paper and plastic plates, bowls, and cups are all recycled nowadays, ditto with chip bags, clothing, furniture, and any number of other things.  It only stands to reason that there are jewelry designers out there using natural and recycled materials to make their rings, bracelets, necklaces, and cufflinks.  Kirsten Muenster is one of them:

totem-necklace

This is one of the necklaces from her Totem collection, and as you can see, it is absolutely gorgeous.  It is definitely unique and innovative.  In fact, this is one of Kirsten’s “one of a kind” pieces.  The juxtaposition of colors is sleek, sophisticated, yet somehow trendy and edgy as well.

You would never expect that this piece was made from completely green materials, would you?  But that is absolutely the case.  According to Kirsten Muenster’s jewelry site online, this totem necklace is made of: Druzy quartz, a vintage button made of glass, fossilized coral, and sterling silver which has been recycled.
